Case Study: Kuwait’s Project Environment
Kuwait is investing some $115 billion in capital projects through 2020, including a massive refinery project, Al-Zour (NRP), that will double Kuwait’s refining capacity to 1.4 million b/d. Globally respected EPCs such as Petrofac, Technicas Reunidas, CB&I, Fluor and others are working in various consortiums, along with their industry partners, to deliver Kuwait’s ambitious growth plans. Handling the superheavy cargo required in this challenging transport environment requires barge beach landings, loading heavies at anchorage, and other complex maneuvers. Our panel of industry executives is uniquely skilled at moving the heavy-lift, out-of-gauge cargo essential to building these game-changing projects. A good thing, as the Kuwait project boom has not yet reached its peak.
